May's Month-Long Writing Challenge

Week Two

Hello, and welcome to week two of May’s Month-Long Writing Challenge. In case you missed it, last week’s challenge was “Write Your Own Urban Legend” and it can be found on my previous blog. Now, for those of you who are new to this, or who may have forgotten, the point of this challenge is to strengthen those writing muscles. Oh, and to have fun of course! Get as creative as can but try your best to stick with the theme.

However, if you do go off course, it’s no big deal because, hey, look at you! Your writing, aren’t you? And that’s the whole point. So, with that being said, let’s dive into this week’s writing prompt.

May’s Month-Long Writing Challenge

Week Two:

Alone in the Woods

Imagine you’ve been stranded in the woods…alone. Maybe you decided to camp or just go for a hike, or a drive through the magnificent fall foliage. But somehow, you’ve gotten lost, or separated from the group. There’s not much scarier than being alone, especially when you are in the middle of nowhere and there is no help to be found.

Maybe it is getting dark or maybe you hear strange noises. Could it be people? A monster? Or maybe it’s just the tiny woodland creatures who want to keep you company. Like wolves. Those guys are nice…aren’t they?

Okay, now you’ve gotten your prompt. Let’s see how you do. Oh, and don’t forget to comment below with some of your favorite books, films, or bedtime stories where someone is alone in the woods. Who knows, maybe they’ll inspire your story too.
